Privacy Policy

Flint Mail ("Flint") is an independently developed email app for iPhone. Flint is built so that your email stays yours: the app has no mail servers, and your messages are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Flint is made and operated by Jason Crane, an individual developer in the United States, reachable at support@3dlibrary.app. For the purposes of the GDPR and similar laws, that is the data controller for the small amount of information described below. The notification relay described under "What leaves your device" runs in the United States.
What Flint stores, and where
- Your email: messages, attachments, and contacts you interact with are downloaded directly from your mail provider (such as Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, or iCloud Mail) to your device, and stored only on your device.
- Your credentials: sign-in tokens and app passwords are stored in your device's Keychain. They are sent only to your own mail provider to sign you in, never to us. Flint has no account system of its own.
- Settings: preferences (such as appearance and blocked senders) are stored on your device.
What leaves your device
- Mail protocol traffic: Flint talks directly to your mail provider over encrypted connections (their official APIs, or IMAP/SMTP over TLS) to read and send your mail.
- New-mail notifications: for providers that support push (Gmail and Outlook), a small relay service operated for Flint passes "something changed" signals from your provider to Apple's notification service. This relay stores only the pairing between an email address and a device notification token (and, for Outlook, the identifier of the subscription that watches that mailbox). It never receives, stores, or can read the content of any message. Accounts connected over IMAP (Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, and others) are never registered with the relay; they check for mail directly from your device.
- Sender images: to show company logos and pictures inside emails, Flint fetches images from the sender's own servers, then caches them on your device.
What Flint does not do
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No selling, sharing, or mining of your data. We never possess it in the first place.
- No server-side copies of your mailbox or credentials.
Deleting your data
Removing an account inside Flint deletes its locally stored mail and credentials from your device, and tells the notification relay to delete that account's device pairing. Once no device is signed in to that address, the relay holds nothing about it at all. Deleting the app removes everything Flint stored on your device.
There is no account to close and no server-side mailbox to erase, because Flint never had one. If you would like the relay pairing for an address removed directly, email support@3dlibrary.app from that address and it will be deleted.
Google user data
Flint's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to provide the mail features you see in the app — reading, searching, sending, organizing, and deleting your mail. It is stored only on your device, is never transferred to anyone, is never used for advertising or sold, and is never read by a human.
Your mail provider
Your use of Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, or iCloud Mail remains governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Flint accesses your mailbox only after you sign in and authorize it, and you can revoke that access at any time in your provider's security settings.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what Flint holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to support@3dlibrary.app. In practice the answer is short, because the only thing Flint keeps off your device is the pairing between an email address and a device notification token, and you can delete that yourself by removing the account in the app. Flint does not sell or share personal information, and has never done so; there is no advertising or tracking to opt out of.
Children
Flint is a general-purpose email app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
