Support
Everything about Flint runs on your iPhone, so most problems are about the connection between Flint and your mail provider. Start here.
Email us: support@3dlibrary.app
We read every message. Telling us which provider (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL or other
IMAP) and what you saw on screen gets you a useful answer much faster.
Adding an account
- Gmail and Outlook sign in through Google's and Microsoft's own sign-in screens. Flint never sees your password.
- iCloud, Yahoo and AOL need an app password — a one-off password you create for Flint at your provider, separate from your real one, that you can revoke at any time. Flint walks you through it step by step when you pick one of those providers.
- Any other mailbox can be added with standard IMAP settings.
Common fixes
- An account stopped syncing. Open the account list and check the sync banner. If a provider has expired your sign-in, removing and re-adding the account restores it.
- Sign-in is rejected on iCloud, Yahoo or AOL. These providers reject your normal password by design. You need an app password, created at the provider.
- No new-mail notifications. Check Settings → Notifications → Flint on your iPhone. Gmail and Outlook get pushed notifications; other providers check for mail when you open the app.
- A message looks wrong. Some senders' images are hosted on servers that no longer respond. Flint collapses those rather than leaving a blank space, so a newsletter may look plainer in Flint than elsewhere.
Your mail and your privacy
Flint has no mail servers and no account of its own. Your messages and sign-ins stay on your iPhone. The full detail is in the privacy policy, including how to have anything Flint stores removed.
Removing an account, or the app
Removing an account inside Flint deletes its mail and credentials from your device and unregisters it from the notification service. Deleting the app removes everything Flint stored. You can also revoke Flint's access at any time from your mail provider's own security settings.
